Pain & Treatment
To begin there are various types of pain someone may feel. Dull achy pain is usually associated with muscular pain. Burning, stabbing, shooting, numbness, and tingling is usually associated with types of nerve pain. Nerve pain can be from several reasons, I do a full assessment to determine if it’s due to nerve entrapment by muscles which I can help or nerve impingement by bones or other nervous system issues that I would have to collaborate with your healthcare team to help.
As an advanced neuromuscular massage therapist, there are many soft tissue injuries that can be treated. Every session begins first with an assessment to include: history, observation, palpation, various range of motion tests and ended with special orthopedic tests if necessary. Due to the nature of this work, it is usually not your relaxing spa treatment as I ask questions during the work and base my work off of your overall needs.
After the assessment, we work together to develop a plan based on your specific needs as my valued client.
To name a few soft tissue injuries I may be able to assist with: TMJ syndrome, whiplash, wryneck, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow, various types of low back pain, ITB syndrome, various knee and ankle acute strains and sprains, other acute muscle strains, and post-surgical healing.
